asked the Minister for Finance whether a limited examination for posts as shorthand typists and typists in the Civil Service is to be held on May 22nd next; and whether, as this examination is confined to persons with at least two years' approved service, he will give some futher opportunity to established typists who have less than this amount of service to qualify as shorthand typists in the future under similar conditions.

A limited competition for posts as shorthand typists and typists, commencing on the 22nd May next, has been announced by the Civil Service Commissioners. It is the intention, subject to the needs of the Service, to provide further opportunities for established typists to qualify by means of examination for promotion to the rank of shorthand typist.
