Vol. 22 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ADRIGOLE (CO. CORK) SCHOOL.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that the national school at Adrigole, County Cork, has been condemned by the school inspector as unsuitable, and if he will state what action it is proposed to take in the matter.

The Adrigole boys' and girls' national schools are in one building, but are under separate management. From the information at the disposal of the Department of Education, it would seem that the condition of the building is not suitable. The question whether the proper remedy is reconstruction of the existing building or the erection of new schools has been referred to the Board of Works. No direct application with regard to reconstruction or the erection of new schools has been received from either manager. When such application is received it will be considered in the light of the report from the Board of Works, and of the comparative urgency of the case.
