Vol. 22 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - COUNTY CORK POSTAL DELIVERIES.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the delay in the delivery of mails in the townlands of Ballinakill, East and West; Clonmore, Upper and Lower; Coolusmuttane, Upper and Lower; Shandrum, and Glengariffe, in the postal district of Newtown, County Cork, is causing great inconvenience to the people of these townlands, and whether he will take steps to restore the daily delivery of mails there.

The present frequency of delivery on the rural post from Newtown, County Cork, to Ballinakill by which the townlands referred to are served is three days a week. The question of increasing the frequency has been recently considered, but it was found that the additional expense which any increase of frequency would involve is not warranted.
