THE METHODIST CHURCH IN IRELAND BILL, 1928. - APPOINTMENT OF JOINT COMMITTEE. MESSAGE FROM SEANAD.

Tá Seanad Eireann tar éis an Rún so leanas do rith agus ba mhaith leo go n-aontódh Dáil Eireann leis:—
"Go bhfuil sé oiriúnach Có-Choiste den dá Thigh' do cheapa chur Bille Eaglais na Methodisteach in Eirinn, 1928 do bhreithniú, eadhon, Bille dá ngairmtear Acht chun éifeacht reachtúil do thabhairt do Chóiriú an Chóluchta Chreidimh dá ngairmtear Eaglais na Methodisteach in Eirinn agus chun socrú do dhéanamh chun an Cóiriú san d'atharú agus do leasú, chun comhachta breise do bhronna ar Chódháil Bhliantúil na hEaglaise sin, chun comhachta breise do bhronna ar a hIontaobhaithe Reachtúla atá ionchorparuithe trid an Methodist Church in Ireland Act, 1915, chun iontaobhachtaí i bhfabhar na hEaglaise sin do dhéanamh indearbhuithe, chun socrú do dhéanamh maidir le stiúrú imeachta Códhála agus chun crícheanna eile a bhaineas leis na nithe sin."
Seanad Eireann has passed the following Resolution, in which the concurrence of Dáil Eireann is desired:—
"That it is expedient that a Joint Committee of both Houses be appointed to consider The Methodist Church in Ireland Bill, 1928, being a Bill entitled an Act to give statutory effect to the Constitution of the Religious Body known as the Methodist Church in Ireland and to provide for the alteration and amendment of same, to confer additional powers upon the Annual Conference of said Church, to confer additional powers upon the Statutory Trustees incorporated by the Methodist Church in Ireland Act, 1915, to enable trusts to be declared in favour of such Church, to provide for conduct of proceedings of Conference and other purposes in relation thereto."

I move:—

"Go n-aontuighidh an Dáil leis an Seanad ina Rún a cuireadh in úil don Dáil an 1º lá de Márta, 1928, go bhfuil sé oiriúnach Có-Choiste den Dá Thigh do cheapa chun Bille Eaglais na Methodisteach in Eirinn, 1928."

"That the Dáil concur with the Seanad in their Resolution communicated to the Dáil the 1st day of March, 1928, that it is expedient that a Joint Committee of both Houses be appointed to consider the Methodist Church in Ireland Bill, 1928."

Motion agreed to.

It might be as well to inform Deputies that Private Bills are not circulated, but copies are always available for Deputies in the office.
