Vol. 22 No. 14

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - OLD AGE PENSIONS CLAIMS (CO. WEXFORD).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health why a blind pension passed by the Shillelagh old age pensions sub-committee to Elizabeth Keogh (number on pension officer's register 1441), who has submitted evidence from an eye specialist that she was unable to work owing to defective eyesight, has not been sanctioned.

In this case an appeal was decided on the 10th instant, when it was determined that the claimant is entitled to a pension of nine shillings a week from the date of the receipt of the claim by the pension officer.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health to state on what grounds an old age pension was refused to Mrs. M. Mahon, Ballyknockan, Blessington, County Wicklow, in view of the fact that her claim was passed by the Naas No. 2 Sub-Committee.

An appeal was decided in this case on 23rd December, 1926. It was determined that the claimant was not entitled to an old age pension, as it was not clear on the evidence submitted that her means were within the statutory limits for the receipt of a pension.
