As stated in a reply to a question by Deputy O'Connell on 7th March, circulars dealing with the principal recommendations made in the report presented by the Committee of Inspection of Primary Schools are now being issued. I shall send copies of these circulars to the Deputy, and a comparison of them with the report will enable him to determine how far the recommendations of the Committee have been accepted on the matters dealt with in the circulars. There are some points still outstanding to which I am giving further consideration.
It is not the practice to indicate the nature of the official advice I take into consideration before coming to a decision, nor are the Departmental communications available for the information of Deputies or the public.
