Vol. 22 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PORTS AND HARBOURS TRIBUNAL.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he can state what progress the Ports and Harbours Tribunal is making with its investigations, and when it is anticipated that its Report will be laid before the Dáil.

The Ports and Harbours Tribunal has completed its inquiries in respect of twenty-one of the twenty-four undertakings scheduled to its terms of reference, and arrangements have been made to hold sittings at New Ross and Waterford respectively towards the end of April. When the inquiries at the latter ports have been completed, it is proposed to deal with the Port of Dublin, and also to hold special sittings to take evidence of a general character pertaining to the ports as a whole. It is anticipated, so far as can be foreseen at the moment, that the report will be ready by the autumn of this year.
