Vol. 22 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - POPHAM ESTATE (COUNTY ROSCOMMON).

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether the work of completing the road on the Popham Estate, near Boyle, has been held up by the refusal of one of the landowners to allow the road to be made; and what steps he intends to take in order to have the road completed.

The Land Commission authorised the making of a right-of-way over the holding of James Gorman at Ballymore East, for the use of the tenants in the district. James Gorman, however, and his family, when the Land Commission officials attended at his holding for the purpose of laying out the right-of-way, interfered and stopped the work. The solicitor to the Land Commission has been instructed to proceed against Gorman in the High Court for an injunction to restrain him from further interference and obstruction.
