Vol. 23 No. 1

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - PENSION FOR POSTMAN'S WIDOW.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if the destitute condition of Mrs. Elizabeth Lamb, Market Square, Kilcullen, Co. Kildare, widow of the late Joseph Lamb, for many years a rural postman in Kilcullen, has been brought to his attention; and if he will consider whether any pension can be granted to her.

The late Mr. Joseph Lamb was employed as a postman at Kilcullen, Co. Kildare, from the 6th February, 1883, to the date of his death, 18th February, 1919. The widow was awarded the maximum gratuity permissible under the Superannuation Acts, and it is regretted that this Department has no power to make a further grant.
