Vol. 23 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - BORRISOLEIGH OLD AGE PENSION CASE.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will state for what reason the recommendation of the local Old Age Pension Committee, awarding a pension at the maximum rate to Mrs. Mary Hammond, widow, Chapel Street, Borrisoleigh, has not been carried out; and whether he will give instructions to have her claim reconsidered.

This case has not been before me on appeal since 1924, when a pension of 8/- a week was allowed. I cannot intervene in old age pension cases not before me on appeal. I have, however, referred the matter to the Revenue Commissioners, who are making inquiries, and who may be in a position to reply to the Deputy at an early date.
