Vol. 23 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - THURLES OLD AGE PENSION CASES.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will state why Mrs. Bridget Loughnane, Mitchell Street, Thurles, has been awarded an old age pension of only 3/- a week.

No appeal has come before me in this case, and I have therefore no information in regard to it. I have, however, referred the matter to the Revenue Commissioners, who are making inquiries and may be in a position to reply to the Deputy at an early date.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will state on what estimate of income the old age pension of 4/- a week paid to Mrs. Ellen Fanning, widow, Mitchell Street, Thurles, is based, and how the estimate was reached.

No appeal has come before me in this case, and I have therefore no information in regard to it. I have, however, referred the matter to the Revenue Commissioners, who are making inquiries and may be in a position to reply to the Deputy at an early date.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will state why John Ryan (of no fixed abode), Thurles, is not paid an old age pension at the full rate.

The particulars given are not sufficient to enable me to identify the case as having been before me previously on appeal. If the Deputy can give me any further particulars I would have inquiries made. If there was no appeal, any inquiries in connection with the case should be addressed to the Revenue Commissioners.
