Vol. 23 No. 15

BUSINESS OF THE DÁIL.

Deputy Briscoe and Deputy Davin have inquired what day would be fixed for a discussion of the Report of the Committee of Public Accounts. I presume that the form of the motion will be that the Report be considered. I propose to set apart this day week for that discussion. I presume the discussion will be finished in one day. I anticipate that quite a number of questions will be raised in the course of the discussion on that Report which might otherwise fall to be raised on the Estimates. I assume that when they have been raised it is unlikely that they will form the subject of discussion again.

Will Private Deputies' time be taken on this day week for the purposes of that discussion?

It would be better to have the subject finished in the one day, and it is proposed to take up Private Deputies' time.

The President also undertook to state when he would be prepared to give a day for the discussion of the Report on the application for a tariff on flour.

I would ask for a little more time to consider that matter. Quite a number of things have arisen which do not come before the Dáil and which occupy a considerable amount of time on the part of the Executive Council. They are under consideration at present. I undertake to set aside Wednesday, or Thursday next at the latest, in this connection.
