Vol. 23 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. Oral Answers. - MONAGHAN SAVINGS CERTIFICATES APPLICATION.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that James Whelan, Glasslough Street, Monaghan, applied more than two months ago for Savings Certificates in respect of his subscription to the Dáil Loan, 1920; that he quoted the number of his receipt as supplied from the local register, and that, except for a formal acknowledgment, he has not heard anything further in the matter; and whether he will state the approximate date on which Savings Certificates are likely to be issued in this case.

Authority to issue a Savings Certificate to Mr. James Whelan, of Glasslough Street, Monaghan, will be given to the Department of Posts and Telegraphs at an early date.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that Owen Sherlock, Clarina, Tydavnet, County Monaghan, applied on 10th June, 1927, for Savings Certificates in respect of his subscription to the Dáil Loan, 1920; that his number on the Dáil Loan Register is 8377 (83222) No. 7; that Savings Certificates have not yet been issued to him; and whether he will state the approximate date on which payment will be made, and the cause of the delay.

Authority to issue a Savings Certificate to Mr. Owen Sherlock, Clarina, Tydavnet, in respect of his subscription of £1 (one) to the Dáil Loan will be given to the Department of Posts and Telegraphs at an early date.

The delay in issuing the Certificate is due to the fact that inaccurate particulars were furnished in Mr. Sherlock's application, so that my Department were unable to identify the subscription readily.
