I am not in a position to furnish the information asked for in part one of the question, nor can I give the information asked for in part two, paragraphs a, b, c, d, e and f. No doubt information can be got with regard to part two, g and h, but such information is not relevant to the question asked by the Deputy on 6th June. On that occasion I informed the Deputy the period of Mr. O Muirthuille's services. Pension is assessed on length of service and rank on retirement or rank on the 1st February, 1924, whichever is the highest. The period of service given by me to the Deputy on June 6th is computed for pension purposes as 14 years. Mr. O Muirthuille resigned with rank of Lieut-General.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he can state if Daniel Moriarty, Gurranafulla, Mastergeehy, County Kerry, is the man described as Daniel Moriarty, Kerry, in the list of names supplied by his Department as receiving a pension under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1925; and whether he can state the years of service and the service rendered during each particular year which entitle this man to such pension.

The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The years of service which entitle Daniel Moriarty to his pension make up the period from 1st April, 1921, to the 30th September, 1923.
