Vol. 24 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - BALLYHACK (WEXFORD) HARBOUR.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether he has received an application from the fishermen of Ballyhack, County Wexford, to have the harbour dredged; whether a dredger is at present working in the vicinity; and whether he will consider the advisability of having Ballyhack Harbour attended to before this dredger is recalled.

I have not received any application to have Ballyhack Harbour dredged. I am aware that considerable silting has occurred at the place within the past few years; and if the Wexford County Council, as the harbour authority, will undertake to arrange for the clearance of the silt, I am prepared to recommend a contribution from State funds towards the cost of such work.
