Vol. 24 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DISEASE IN CALVES.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he will consider the advisability of making the disease in calves known as "white scour" a scheduled disease.

The question of scheduling white scour in calves under the Diseases of Animals Acts has been considered. Having regard to the fact that the most common form of the disease can be prevented by attention to the feeding and management of in-calf cows and young calves and to the cleansing and disinfection of premises, the Department decided that it was not advisable so to schedule this disease.
