Vol. 24 No. 7

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - WATERVILLE FISHERY FACILITIES.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether he is aware that the slip at Rineen, Waterville, Co. Kerry, does not meet the requirements of the fishermen in that locality, inasmuch as only one boat at a time can come alongside to land the catches and nets; and whether, in view of this fact, he will make the necessary alteration in this slip so as to enable two boats to land their catches at the same time.

The landing slip recently provided at Rineen, Waterville, affords greatly improved facilities for the local fishermen as compared with former conditions at the place; and I am not prepared at present to recommend further expenditure of State funds upon an extension of the existing work.
