Vol. 24 No. 7

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - VESTING OF CO. KERRY LANDS.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether he is aware that the lands on the Trinity College Estate, County Kerry, purchased about fourteen years ago, have not yet been vested in the tenants; and whether, in view of the loss sustained yearly by the tenants on this estate as a result of the delay on the part of the Irish Land Commission in this matter, he will take the necessary steps to expedite the vesting of this estate in the tenants.

This estate was not vested in the late Congested Districts Board until 1st November, 1922. Since the transfer of this estate to the Land Commission under the Land Law (Commission) Act, 1925, over 360 purchase chase agreements have been issued for signature and 216 have been completed by the tenants. 206 holdings have been vested in the purchasers and the remaining 16 will be vested at an early date. Purchase agreements required to complete the resale of the estate are at present being prepared for issue to the tenants.
