Vol. 24 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PUPIL TEACHERS' SCHEME.

asked the Minister for Education whether intermediate students, appointed as pupil teachers under the new scheme, are given preference over monitresses and ex-monitresses and over pupil teachers under the old scheme.

Pupil teachers appointed under the new scheme who, at the termination of their pupil teacher service, pass the Leaving Certificate examination of the secondary system in the prescribed course and fulfil certain other conditions required by the regulations, take priority in regard to admission to training over Easter Scholarship candidates who at present may include monitresses, ex-monitresses and pupil teachers under the old scheme.
