Vol. 24 No. 13

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ADVERTISEMENTS OF POSTAL VACANCIES.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that notices appearing in "Iris an Phuist," announcing vacancies in the Post Office Service, are printed in Irish only; and whether he will take steps to ensure that they are also printed in English.

I am aware that the notices to which the Deputy refers are printed in Irish only, and as this practice is in accordance with the general Government policy of encouraging the use of Irish and of familiarising the staff with the language, I do not propose to alter it.
