Vol. 25 No. 5

(CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS). (ORAL ANSWERS). - COURSE FOR IRISH TEACHERS.

>D'fhiafruigh

den Aire Oideachais céard tá déanta fé chúrsa léigheacht a sholáthart do na múinteoirí Gaedhilge chun iad a chur i n-oiriúint mar mhuinteoirí ins na scoileanna leanamhnacha.

The Committee of Technical Instruction have been asked by my Department to furnish detailed information as regards the educational qualifications of the whole-time Irish teachers employed by them. When this information is available it is proposed to arrange for such courses of instruction as may be considered necessary for those of the Irish teachers whose educational qualifications show that with the help of such courses they might reasonably be expected to become efficient teachers in continuation schools.

Can the Minister state whether there is any likelihood of these schools being established within the next six months and if so, is there any likelihood of teachers being provided with courses in the meantime?

I could not answer that.
