(CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS). (ORAL ANSWERS). - MILITARY SERVICE PENSIONS (KERRY).

asked the Minister for Defence whether he can state if Patrick Gillsenan, Cahirciveen, Co. Kerry, is the man represented as Patrick Gillsenan, Kerry, in the list of persons supplied by his Department as being in receipt of pensions under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924; and, if so, whether he will state the years of service, and the services rendered, which entitle this man to such pension.

The person to whom the pension is being paid is Patrick Joseph Gillsenan, of Church Street, Cahirciveen, Co. Kerry. The years of service which entitle him to his pension make up the following periods:—Half the period from the 1st April, 1920, to the 31st March, 1921. Entire period from the 1st April, 1921, to the 30th September, 1923. The Board of Assessors reported to me that he rendered service as required by the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924, throughout these periods.

Kerry, is the man represented as Daniel Curran, Kerry, in the list of persons supplied by his Department as being in receipt of pensions under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924; and, if so, whether he will state the years of service, and the services rendered, which entitle this man to such pension.

The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative.

The years of service which entitle Daniel Curran to his pension make up the following periods:—

One-eighth of the period from the 1st April, 1920 to the 31st March, 1921.

Entire period from the 1st April, 1921 to the 30th June, 1922.

Entire period from the 25th August, 1922, to the 30th September, 1923.

The Board of Assessors reported to me that he rendered service as required by the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924, throughout these periods.
