(CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS). (ORAL ANSWERS). - CLERICAL-OFFICER EXAMINATIONS.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state (1) the number of clerical officers who were declared successful as a result of the Limited Examination, 1925, who have satisfactorily completed their probationary period, whose age was 50 or over on the date of appointment, and who are at present in the Civil Service; (2) the number of clerical officers who (a) were declared successful as a result of the Limited Examination, 1927; (b) were declared to be qualified as a result of the Limited Examination, 1927, and (c) whose age was 50 or over on the specified date, 1st May, 1927.

The reply to the Deputy's question is in the form of a tabular statement and it will appear in the Official Report.

The following is the reply:—

(1) Number of clerical officers who were declared successful as a result of the 1925 Limited Examination who have satisfactorily completed their probationary period, whose age was 50 or over on the date of appointment and who are at present in the Civil Service 7

(2) Number of clerical officers who (a) were declared successful as a result of the 1927 Limited Examination ... ... 100

(b) were declared to be qualified as a result of the 1927 Limited Examination ... ... ... 58

(c) Number of clerical officers appointed from the 1927 Examination whose age was 50 or over on the 1st May, 1927 ... 3
