CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - BREAD AND BUN IMPORTS FROM NORTHERN IRELAND.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state (1) the total quantity of bread and buns containing sugar and fruit, or sugar alone, imported into the Free State from Northern Ireland in the year 1927; (2) the quantity of such bread and buns on which duty was paid, and the total amount of such duty; (3) the quantity, if any, admitted free of duty.

The quantity of bakers' bread and buns containing sweetening matter with or without dried or preserved fruit imported into the Saorstát from Northern Ireland in the year 1927 was 30,270 lbs. and the duty paid thereon was £380. No such goods are admitted without payment of duty.
