Vol. 26 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - TELEPHONE EXTENSION TO RINGASKIDDY.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he will consider the advisability of extending the telephone service to Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.

The opening of a telephone call office at Ringaskiddy would involve the provision at heavy cost of a circuit between that place and Cobh, a considerable portion of which would be submarine. The receipts from calls would fall so far short of the cost of providing and maintaining the service that the facility would not, I regret, be warranted.
