Vol. 26 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - POSTAL DELIVERIES (CORK).

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware of the inconvenience caused to the people of Ballyvourney, Ballymakera and Coolea districts of North Cork by the inadequate delivery of letters, and whether he will take steps to have letters delivered in those districts four times weekly.

The existing postal facilities in the Ballyvourney and Ballymakera districts are afforded at a loss to the State and are considered adequate.

The delivery to the Coolea district being only a two-day frequency, further inquiry is being made into the possibility of increasing the present service.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he will now consider granting a second postal daily delivery to Dunmanway, Co. Cork, seeing that practically all towns in West Cork have similar facilities.

Inquiry is in progress regarding the question of affording a second delivery daily by postman in Dunmanway, and I will communicate the result to the Deputy in due course.
