Vol. 26 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLARE ESTATES.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether the Land Commission intends to acquire the estate of John Looney and others, Record No. C.C.1, Co. Clare, for redivision amongst the tenants, and, if so, when.

The lands referred to are the subject of proceedings under Section 42 of the Land Act, 1927, but they have not yet reached a stage at which it can be stated when the lands will be vested. The matter is being dealt with as expeditiously as practicable.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he can state what is the position with regard to the estate of P.J. Howard, Esq., Drumcliffe, near Ennis, Co. Clare.

The lands referred to appear to be the holding of Patrick J. Howard, in the townland of Drumcliffe, on the estate of Col. Wm. A. Scott, Co. Clare, which is the subject of proceedings under the Land Act, 1923, and when the estate is being dealt with under the Act in its order of priority the question of dealing with the holding as a retained holding will be considered.
