Vol. 26 No. 5

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - FISH LANDING FACILITIES AT RATHCOURSEY.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether representations were made to his Department regarding the inadequacy of the existing facilities at Rathcoursey, Co. Cork, for the landing of fish by the local fishermen; and whether he is prepared to recommend the making of a grant towards the erection of a slip, which is badly needed.

I have received representations as to the need for improved landing facilities at Rathcoursey. The work, however, proposed by local persons to the Department's engineer when he visited the place is not practicable, and I am not satisfied that any suitable structural work can be carried out there at a cost commensurate with the interests to be served.
