Vol. 26 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - TRANSFER OF LANDS IN CO. KILDARE.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if it is the intention of the Land Commission to hand over possession of the lands, comprising about 880 acres, recently acquired in the Ballymore Eustace district, Co. Kildare, to the allottees during the month of November, in order that preparations can be made for the sowing of next season's crops, and, if not, whether he will expedite the transfer of these lands.

The Land Commission have acquired the lands of Bishopsland, containing 513 acres or thereabouts, in the Ballymore Eustace district under the provisions of the Land Acts. They are being dealt with as rapidly as possible, but the Commissioners will not be in a position to allot them in November.

Proceedings have been instituted by the Land Commission for the acquisition of the lands of Broadleas Common, Horsepasstown, Kilmalum and Silvertown Lower, containing in all 303a. 2r. 9p., in the same district, and the price of the lands has been fixed and published. The owner has now appealed to the Judicial Commissioner on the question of price.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary say when the lands on the Wolfe Estate will be divided?

I could not say. It will depend on when the appeal will be heard and disposed of.
