BETTING ACT, 1926—MESSAGE FROM THE SEANAD.

It was announced that Seanad Eireann had passed the following resolution:—
"That the Seanad agrees that it is expedient that a Joint Committee, consisting of seven members of the Dáil and seven members of the Seanad, be appointed to consider the working of the Betting Act, 1926, and to report what amendments of the existing law relating to the business of bookmaking are desirable; and
That the Committee have power to send for persons, papers and records."

I move:—

(1) That a Joint Committee, consisting of seven members of the Dáil and seven members of the Seanad, be appointed to consider the working of the Betting Act, 1926, and to report what amendments of the existing law relating to the business of bookmaking are desirable.

That the Committee have power to send for persons, papers and records.

(2) That the Committee of Selection nominate seven Deputies to Serve on the Joint Committee.

Ordered accordingly.
