Vol. 27 No. 2

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - VALUE OF FISH AS A FOOD.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state the reason for the delay in putting into operation that part of the Report of the Sea Fisheries Conference, 1927, which recommends that the Department of Fisheries be authorised to prepare and issue propaganda literature in the form of posters and handbills, or in any other manner which may appear suitable, with the object of directing attention of the citizens of the Saorstát to the value of fish as a food.

Before such propaganda can be usefully undertaken it will be necessary to increase the supply and improve the facilities for the distribution and sale of fish. Proposals to this end are at present under consideration as part of a general scheme of improved marketing of fish.
