Vol. 27 No. 4

CEISTEANNA.—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REMOVAL OF MEATH PILLAR-BOX.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he will state the reason for the removal of the Pillar Box from College Park, Summerhill, Co. Meath, and whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction and inconvenience caused thereby to the people of the district.

I presume the Deputy refers to the letter-box at Collegeland Cross, Summerhill, which was cleared daily at 12.10 p.m., and which was abolished recently because the very few items posted in it did not justify its maintenance. Letters can be handed about noon each week-day to the postman who serves the district. In the circumstances it does not appear that any material inconvenience can have been caused by the withdrawal of the facility.
