asked the Minister for Justice whether he will state for what reason and by what authority Mr. J. Folan, delegate to the Fianna Fáil Ard-Fheis, was, on his return to Galway on the 26th October, 1928, questioned at the railway station by members of the detective division of the Gárda Síochána, taken to the barracks and searched.

Mr. Folan was questioned and searched by the Gárda Síochána because they had reason to believe that he was in possession of firearms. The search was carried out under the Firearms Act, 1925.

Will the Minister state if they got any firearms?

No. There must be a certain number of blanks for each successful find.
