CEISTEANNA.—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DIVISION OF LEIX LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether a division scheme has been sanctioned by the Land Commission in connection with the estate of Sir Charles Coote, Deerpark, Mountrath, and whether he will state when same will be put into operation.

Proceedings were instituted under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, for the acquisition of the lands of Deerpark, in the estate of Sir R.A. Coote. The price of these lands has been determined. They will be divided as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether the Land Commission propose to acquire the lands of Phillipsburg, Rapla, Cullohill, Leix, for the purpose of dividing same amongst the uneconomic holders of the district.

The offer of the Land Commission for the purchase of the lands of Rapla, comprising an area of 140a. 0r. 25p., has been accepted by the owner, Mr. Peter T. Roe, and a scheme for the division of the lands is being prepared.
