Vol. 27 No. 4

QUESTION OF THE ADJOURNMENT.

In view of the unsatisfactory answer to question No. 19 on the Order Paper, I beg to give notice that I will raise this matter on the motion for the adjournment this evening.

This was an umpire's decision. That is a matter in which no Government Department can interfere.

I presume that we cannot debate the matter now.

Would the Deputy say what it is exactly that he wants to raise?

The unsatisfactory answer given.

The unsatisfactory answer is that the umpire has given a decision, and his decision is final. No one is going to be here to answer for the umpire.

Can we debate it now, because I would like to have something to say about it?

Perhaps before the motion for the adjournment comes on we may be able to ascertain what precisely it is that the Deputy wants to raise.

Does the Minister deny that he is responsible for the appointment of the umpire?
