Vol. 31 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gaeltacht Development.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is now in a position to say when the promised proposals for legislation for the development of sea fisheries and of rural industries in the Gaeltacht are to be introduced.

My proposals are at present under examination, and when they have received the necessary approvals no time will be lost in the preparation and introduction of legislation on the subject.

Am I to understand from the Minister's reply that it is not proposed to introduce any Bill to deal with this matter before the conclusion of the present Session?

The discussions are reaching their final stages these days, and it would then depend on whether the draughtsman would have the Bill ready before the adjournment, and also on how soon the Dáil would adjourn.

Will the Bill be in time for the next by-election?
