Vol. 31 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age and Blind Pensions (Tipperary).

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the payment of old age and blind pensions which were awarded on the 25th May, 1928, by the Cahir Pen sions Committee to Mr. Thomas Daniel, Kildenogue, Ardfinnan, Co. Tipperary, was withheld by the Pensions Office for twelve months, and, if so, if he will state the reasons for withholding payment, and if the action of the Pensions Officer in this case was approved of by the Minister; if he is further aware that the applicant was found by a Medical Inspector of the Department of Local Government and Public Health to be sufficiently blind to be entitled to the blind pension, and whether the payment of the pensions withheld from 25th May, 1928, to June, 1929, will now be made.

Local inquiries will have to be made in this case. I hope to be in a position to communicate a reply to the Deputy in about a week's time.
