Vol. 32 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Erritt Lands (Roscommon).

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what steps, if any, have been taken to acquire the lands of Erritt, De Freyne estate, Gortaganny, Co. Roscommon.

The Land Commission have gazetted untenanted lands on the De Freyne estate comprising an area of 314 acres, 2 roods and 33 perches (of which an area of 174 acres 1 rood and 5 perches is water) situate on the townlands of Derrecnamackcn, Tully, Erritt and Gortageanny, Co. Roscommon. The price offered by the Commissioners for the lands has not been accepted. Further action in the matter is now under consideration.

In addition proceedings have been instituted for the resumption of three tenanted holdings on the Estate comprising altogether an area of 125 acres, 1 rood and 15 perches in the townlands of Derreenamacken, and Lecarrow. An objection to resumption lodged by the tenants has been heard by the Commissioners in Court and is pending for decision.
