Vol. 32 No. 1

Public Business. - Military Service Pensions Bill, 1929—First Stage.

I move for leave to introduce -a "Bill entitled an Act to make the finding made or to be made by the Board of Assessors constituted under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924, final and conclusive and binding on all persons and tribunals whatsoever, to explain Section 4 of the said Act and the Second Schedule to the said Act and to amend the provisions of the said Act prohibiting double pensions."

This Bill is necessary principally because of certain discussions at the Public Accounts Committee which will be within the recollection of Deputies in regard to the duties of the Comptroller and Auditor General in dealing with Military Service Pensions.

Leave given to introduce the Bill. Bill read a First Time; Second Stage ordered for Wednesday, 6th November, 1929.
