Vol. 32 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Electricity Undertaking and Income Tax.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the amounts paid by the Dublin Electricity Undertaking in income tax for the years 1922/23, 1923/24, 1924/25, 1925/26, 1926/27, and 1927/28.

The Revenue Commissioners are precluded by law from disclosing particulars of income tax assessments or any information from which the liability to tax could be ascertained.

I might mention that in handing in this question I was perfectly aware of the fact that that would be the attitude of the Minister for Finance. I was assured that the question would be handed to the appropriate Minister and that I would get the information. I felt that the Minister for Local Government could give this information, as it was through his Department that it was paid.

I have no means of getting the information.

I was aware of that.
