Vol. 32 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Censorship of “Talkie Films.”

asked the Minister for Justice whether any report has been received from the Departmental Committee appointed to consider the censorship of "talkie films," and, if not, when such report may be expected.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. I am not yet in a position to say when the Committee will present their report.

Will the Minister undertake that no expenditure will be entered into before this report is presented?

What expenditure?

On the purchasing of equipment for the censoring of "talkie films."

That, of course, is one of the matters on which the Committee will have to report. It is, I believe, the matter that is giving them the most difficulty.

But action will not be taken until the report is received?
