Vol. 33 No. 5

Private Deputies' Business. - Deputy's Explanation.

I would like the House to permit me to explain my position with regard to the way I voted this evening on the Public Charitable Hospitals (Temporary Provisions) Bill, 1929. It must not be taken that I was voting against the Bill. The Ceann Comhairle called upon a number of Deputies to stand up so as to register the names of those who were not anxious for the passing of the Bill. I am anxious for the passing of the Bill, although it has been rumoured about the House that I was anxious to follow the lead of the President when he stood up.

The Dáil adjourned at 11 p.m. until 10.30 a.m. on Friday, 21st February, 1930.
