Vol. 34 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Annuity Defaulters.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state the action taken against land annuity defaulters where—(a) payment is wilfully delayed, or (b) payment is only obtained in part, or (c) "nulla bona" returns are made by sheriffs officers.

Summary proceedings are instituted against tenant purchasers who fail to pay in whole or part the instalments of land purchase annuity charged on their holdings. Where the returns of "nulla bona" are made to decrees in respect of such instalments the normal practice of the Land Commission is to advertise the sale of the holdings by public auction.
