Vol. 34 No. 1

Written Answers. - Galway Land Commission Leases.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state the reason why the Land Commission, having heard on the 19th June, 1929, the objection lodged by W.J. Farren against the resumption of holding No. 57 on the retained list of the estate of J.A. Lewis, County Galway, Record No. S.1990, delayed giving their decision in the matter until the 28th November, 1929.

The objection lodged by Mr. W.J. Farren against the resumption of his holding on the Lewis Estate was heard by the Land Commissioners on 19th June, 1929, and their decision disallowing it was given on 2nd August, 1929, not on 28th November, 1929. The Order for the resumption of the lands was made by the Judicial Commissioner on 28th November, 1929.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state if the Land Commission have taken over holding No. 57 on the retained list of the estate of J.A. Lewis, County Galway, Record No. S.1990, for which a resumption order was given by the Judicial Commission on the 28th November, 1929; and, if not, whether he will state the reason why.

The Land Commission have obtained the necessary Order for the resumption of Mr. W.J. Farren's holding referred to, but arrangements have not yet been completed for the taking over of the lands, pending the making of arrangements for their disposal.
