Vol. 34 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Co. Mayo Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state when the Captain P.A. Clive Estate, Dooriel, Ballycroy, Co. Mayo, was acquired by the Land Commission; has it yet been vested in the tenants concerned; and, if not, what is the reason for the delay.

The estate of Captain P.A. Clive is situated on the townlands of Dooriel and three others and was vested in the (late) Congested Districts Board on 28th March, 1912. The holdings have not yet been vested in the tenants, as many of them are very intermixed and require careful rearrangement. No untenanted land was comprised in this estate and the Land Commission are not yet in a position to arrange for the resale of the lands to the tenants.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he is aware that acute congestion exists on the Livesay Estate, Clonbur; that there are over fifty tenants whose valuations are under £5 each, and if he will state what steps, if any, are being taken by the Irish Land Commission to acquire the grazing ranch held by Captain Hodgson, for the purpose of relieving the existing congestion.

Will the Deputy please repeat his Question next week?

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware that acute congestion exists in the townlands of Kilnock, Lenamore and Tavanagh, on the Blake and French Estates; that the poor law valuations of over forty tenants in these townlands are under £3 each; and if he will state what steps, if any, are being taken to acquire the grazing farm held by Mrs. Charles French at Cuillane, Ballindine (Rush Estate), which is the only land available in the vicinity, for the purpose of providing economic holdings for those tenants.

Will the Deputy please repeat his Question next week?
