asked the Minister for Finance whether the Tariff Commission have yet held a final public sitting on the application made on behalf of the coach building industry for a customs duty on imported coach bodies, and whether having regard to the continued importation of such and the consequent threatened closing of coach building firms in the Saorstát he will take steps to expedite the issue of the final report.

The final public sitting of the Tariff Commission in connection with the application to which the Deputy refers has been held. At this sitting the applicants concluded their case and the Commissioners are now proceeding with the preparation of their report, which will be completed as expeditiously as possible.
