Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Betting Revenue.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the net receipts in connection with betting revenue during the financial year 1929-30, under the following heads: (a) duty on bets at 2½ per cent.; (b) duty on bets at 5 per cent.; (c) bookmakers' licence duty; (d) bookmakers' registered premises duty, or any other receipts.

The approximate net receipts in connection with the betting revenue during the financial year 1929-30 were as follows:— Duty on bets at 2½ per cent, £52,100; duty on bets at 5 per cent., £152,000; Bookmakers' licence duty, £5,000; registered bookmaking premises duty, £10,900. There were no other receipts in connection with betting revenue in the year in question.
