Vol. 34 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Purchase of Kilcolgan (Co. Galway) Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state whether the estate of Miss Matilda St. George, at Killeenmunterlane, Kilcolgan, Co. Galway, was purchased by the Congested Districts Board or Land Commission; and if so, at what date, and when will the tenants be vested and get a reduction.

An offer for the purchase by the late Congested Districts Board of the estate of Miss Matilda St. George at Killeenmunterlane, South, was accepted in 1917 by the owner, and the Board by arrangement with her took over the estate, but owing to difficulties as regards title the estate was not vested until October, 1924, in the Land Commission as successors to the Board. Purchase agreements will be tendered for signature by the tenants as soon as possible.
