Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Commission Inspectors.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state the number of Land Commission Inspectors employed by his Department in each county of the Saorstát respectively.

Land Commission Inspectors are normally headquartered in Dublin, and are not employed exclusively in sepearate counties, but are allocated to areas for the time being in proportion to the volume and urgency of the local work. In some cases these areas comprise two or three counties and in others only a portion of a county.

The present allocation of inspectors is as follows:—

Five additional inspectors are engaged on general work throughout An Saorstát in connection with sporting and fishing rights, buildings and committee cases coming under Section 42 of the Land Act, 1927, etc., and the chief inspector and resident inspectors are employed principally at headquarters.
