Vol. 34 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Mayo Farm.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what progress has been made in connection with the acquiring by the Irish Land Commission for distribution among the local congests of the land known as Hagfield Farm, Charlestown, Co. Mayo.

The lands of Treanacally or Hagfield which have been gazetted under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, with the view to their acquisition for the relief of congestion are, as the Deputy has already been informed, the subject of negotiations with the owner. He has informed the Land Commission of the price which he is prepared to accept for his interest in the holding, and this matter is at present under consideration.

Have any negotiations taken place within the last six months or so?

Yes, negotiations are going on continuously.
